Livestreaming
Did you know you can go live directly in modern podcast apps?
How it works
To livestream using RSS, you need
- an audio or video source—you can connect your microphone or camera to your computer and stream using software like butt (for audio) or OBS (for video)
- a streaming server—you can use a service like Asura Hosting (for audio) or Cloudflare (for video)
- an RSS feed—at RSS Blue, you can create a livestream in your dashboard
You will be charged for usage by the streaming server provider rather than by RSS Blue (yes, livestreams don't count toward your monthly charges when you use an external streaming server!). We do not record or store your livestreams, but you can upload the recordings later.
Dynamic chapters (AKA live updates, AKA live wallet switching)
Apps like CurioCaster and Podcast Guru also support real-time updates to livestream metadata. End-users will see changing chapter titles and images. If an external song is referenced, wallet switching will be enabled too.
When a livestream starts, you will be able to activate a given dynamic chapter from your dashboard.
